Land Acknowledgment

We would like to acknowledge the traditional territories and people of the land on which we are learning, working, and living today, including the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikuni, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Stoney Nakoda First Nations, including Chiniki, Bearpaw, and Wesley First Nations. Mohkinstsis (the Blackfoot name for Calgary) is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. We believe it is important to acknowledge the land and people, as therapy is about growth, community, and health. This includes committing ourselves to education around systems of oppression that have denied people their human rights and change by taking action on moving towards inclusivity and respect. We engage in ongoing continuing education to support these goals and bring these learnings into our work and lives.
